Meet our Staff!

Our staff has over an astounding 100 Years of collective experience in the sport, ranging from beginner all the way to National and World Teams! We are priviliged to share what we have learned over our tenure as gymnastics instructors!


  • Founder, Head Coach, and Board President

    Luzia founded Vernon Lee in 1993 and now serves as Program Director, Board President, Safety Coordinator, Program Consultant. Recently out of retirement, Luzia created the heart and soul of our program philosophy. She was born in Germany and competed internationally for eight years before emigrating to the U.S. in 1981. Before starting our nonprofit, she head and assistant coached for the Pacific Palisades YMCA and UCLA Gymnastics Teams. Luzia is National Coaches Congress attendee and former Board Member for So-Cal Gymnastics. Luzia loves spending time with her family and grandson, gardening, building things, and travel.
